Thought of the day: SMBs trying to slow down time and learn Social Media

My friends at Vertical Response just shared an Infographic about how Small Businesses work in the Social Media space. While Facebook is still king, other social networks present challenges. Just a side note: Based on some recent conversations with SMB owners, they are a little concerned about how Facebook manages its business and how it might impact them in the longer term. This was all triggered by their recent stock price issues. That being said, I noticed Facebook is hiring more Small Business experts so maybe word got out and they are trying to focus on meeting SMBs needs better. Some key findings

  • Social Media budgets are rising fast and 36% are paying for publishing and analytics in this area.
  • Finding content and learning about all the different social networks takes the most time.
  • 50% have not used LinkedIn and even more have not used Google +, two social networks that the bigger brands are leveraging more and more.
  • 55% have a blog
